The Role
Cairnbrogie Farm is a working farm, tourism destination and residential community in Plettenberg Bay, home to Cairnbrogie Village, Storm Watch village and a growing collection of guest accommodation. We're looking for a reliable, hard-working Gardener / General Worker to keep our gardens, lawns and outdoor areas clean, safe and looking their best — and to help out with general practical work around the farm.
As Gardener / General Worker, you'll look after the gardens, lawns and outdoor areas across all Cairnbrogie'saccommodation, public amenities and shared facilities, — keeping everything neat, safe and guest-ready. You'll work under the day-to-day direction of the Maintenance Manager.
What You'll Be Doing
- Mowing lawns and keeping edges, trimming and strimming neat
- Weeding, raking, clearing garden refuse and maintaining beds and borders
- Planting, watering and pruning flowers, shrubs and small trees
- Keeping pathways, entrances, parking areas and other guest-facing spaces tidy
- Collecting and disposing of rubbish and green waste
- Assisting with mulching, digging and general clearing work
- Helping with basic watering and irrigation checks, and reporting leaks or blocked sprinklers
- Assisting with general farm or estate work, including cleaning cow housing when required
- Using lawn mowers, weed eaters, brush cutters and garden tools safely
- Caring for tools and equipment, and reporting anything damaged or faulty
- Spotting and reporting hazards — broken fencing, water leaks, fallen trees, damaged paths and similar
What We're Looking For

- Reliable, punctual and able to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Willing to help with a variety of practical tasks around the farm as needed
- Careful and safety-conscious when using tools and equipment
- A positive attitude and pride in keeping the farm looking its best
